Toolbox Grant supports Bushfire and Heatwave Preparation in the Eurobodalla

Southcoast Health and Sustainability Alliance (SHASA) received a $10,750 Toolbox Grant to engage a project officer to work with Bushfire and Heatwave havens in the Eurobodalla to create dedicated manuals and training for volunteers and staff who are responsible for managing havens during extreme weather events.

Lead organisation SHASA has worked across the past decade to create a more resilient Batemans Bay and lay the foundation for a low-carbon economy. Recognising the importance of community organisations and their role in disaster relief and response, SHASA are delivering this toolbox project to assist local NFPs to prepare for extreme weather events. The project will engage a project officer who will focus on developing tailored operational plans for each local Bushfire Haven. The project will include training for staff and volunteers responsible for managing the site during extreme weather events.

What is the Toolbox of Support?

Toolbox Grants are only available to previously funded applicants to the IRCF program that are looking to lead a project that supports multiple organisations working on common capacity issues.  Funding is available through a simple rapid response grant process to respond to shared capacity issues that are present throughout the program and need to be acted on in a timely manner.
